How to get to Vernazza?

The best way to reach Vernazza is undoubtedly by train. During daylight hours there are 4 trips per hour arriving from both La Spezia (20-minute run) and Levanto (10-minute run). The last train to arrive is after midnight in both directions.
For those traveling in Cinque Terre as a walker, you can reach Vernazza on foot from Corniglia and Monterosso through the Blue Path (Sentiero Azzurro), from Pignone through the path of Madonna di Reggio Sanctuary.
For bicycle travelers, you can load bikes on board the train. The roads out of Vernazza are all uphill, it is advisable to use pedal-assisted bikes. Between Levanto and Framura there is a long cycle path obtained from the redevelopment of the old railway tunnels.
Those who love the sea can reach Vernazza by boat from La Spezia (1 hour and 15 minutes) and from Levanto (30 minutes). For those with their own boat: it is necessary to book access to the Marine Protected Area from Cinque Terre National Park website, it is possible to transit in the small port of Vernazza (boat with a maximum length of 10 meters, shallow draft), but stopping is prohibited.
We do not recommend using cars, the driveway is narrow and winding, in many places alternating one-way, there are no fuel pumps in any of Cinque Terre (the nearest are in Levanto or La Spezia).
During peak season (April-October) in addition to the usual regional line, Cinque Terre Express shuttle service is added: from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. there are 4 hourly trips between La Spezia and Levanto that stop in all 5 villages of the National Park. The first run in the morning is around 4 a.m. and the last after midnight, in both directions. The train is the fastest and most environmentally friendly way to visit our villages, we recommend all our guests to buy a Cinque Terre Card train+trekking for the duration of their stay from the Cinque Terre National Park website: with this Card you can travel limitless on trains and move on the Vernazza-Corniglia and Vernazza-Monterosso paths.
Of course, you can consult the boat timetables on the Golfo dei Poeti website. For boaters: you can reach Vernazza with your boat: if it does not exceed 10 meters in total, you can pass through the marina, if it exceeds 10 meters you can use the buoy park outside the dam and be transported inside by the shuttle service (it is not possible to leave your boat unattended at night). In any case, it is necessary to book access to the Marine Protected Area from the National Park website.
Certainly, Cinque Terre are full of trails with breathtaking views and we love the slowness of the journey on foot that allows you to completely immerse yourself in our territory. The main coastal path is the Blue Path (Sentiero Azzurro), the Sanctuaries Path (Via dei Santuari) can be reached from Vernazza getting to the path of our Sanctuary, Madonna di Reggio. If you intend to walk, wear hiking shoes, recharge your mobile phone to use GPS, avoid the middle of the day on summer days, always bring some water.
Yes, but be prepared to get downhill and start uphill again! There are no paths reserved for cyclists only. The best trail for bikes is the AV5T.
Vernazza is entirely a limited traffic area, the parking lot adjacent to the historic village is entirely reserved for residents, the only tourist parking is 1 km from the historic center. We do not recommend reaching us by car, if you travel by car we recommend parking in La Spezia / Levanto and reaching us by train.
No, the closest are in La Spezia and Levanto.
Genoa and Pisa are the closest, it is very convenient to get to Milan as well.
Carrodano (Levanto): arriving from Turin, Genoa and Milan-Genoa
La Spezia: arriving from Pisa, Florence, Bologna, Parma and Milan-CISA

What time is check-in?

You can check in at any time after 3 pm. Between 3 and 7 pm we guarantee the possibility of assisted check-in at the reception, after 7 pm we will indicate the instructions for self check-in. At check-in you will be asked to show an identity document for each guest that we will register at the Italian portals dedicated to accommodations. You will also be required to pay the city tax in cash (3 euros per person per night, e.g. double room for 3 nights = 18 euros).
Please note: The new Italian legislation requires that we ascertain your identity in person within 12 hours of your arrival, so if you arrive late at night and go to the apartment independently, you will need to go to the reception at 10 a.m. the following morning to register your identity documents.
Check-out is by 10 a.m.. You don't need to hand over the keys to us at the reception, you can leave your key inside and walk out without closing the door.
Basically not, because we have little time to prepare the apartments for the next guests. However, if it is possible to organize cleaning, we gladly accept this request at a fixed rate, same for all Be-Eroico Apartments (15 euros for each hour after 10 a.m.).
Between 3 and 7 p.m. we guarantee assisted check-in at the reception:
we will ask you for an identity document for each guest, we will register the data on the dedicated Italian portals and we will return it to you immediately. We will ask you to pay the amount of the city tax of 3 euros per person per night in cash and to settle up (if you have not already done so when booking). We will give you the information you need to fully enjoy your stay and show you the way to your home.
If you arrive after 7pm,
we may need to give you self check-in information. If you arrive late and enter alone, you will need to show up the next day at 10 a.m. at the reception to complete the procedure. With the new Italian law of 2025 it is not possible to complete the check-in electronically, even if you send us your documents and payments remotely, you will still have to go to the reception for direct recognition.
Of course, you can leave your luggage at the reception (we open at 10 a.m. and we are only 20 meters from the train station). If you can, let us know in advance of this need, so that we can prepare the form for the custody of your luggage.

Is Vernazza accessible?

Vernazza train station has just been renovated, today it is equipped with an elevator and 2 staircases, once you leave Vernazza station, the village is entirely accessible along the entire main street (Via Roma - Via Visconti - Via Gavino) up to the square on the sea (Piazza Marconi), a walkway guarantees access to the sea. It remains impossible to remove architectural barriers in the side alleys (typical steep streets of Ligurian villages).
Unfortunately none of our apartments is fully accessible, the most accessible is Oliveto Apartment because it was inhabited by a disabled person, but there are still 4 access steps.
Compared to the average of the structures in Vernazza, the answer is no, but if you are used to elevators and plains you tend to be yes. In detail:
-Limoneto and Oliveto Apartments: ascent + 5 steps
-Grotta and Leudo Studio Apartment: descent + 1 flight / 2 flights of stairs in the condominium
-Eroico Vino Chamber and House: descent + 4 flights of stairs in the condominium
No building is equipped with a lift (in Vernazza there are only 3 lifts: 2 in private buildings and 1 at the railway station).
Yes, if you request this service you must notify us at least 2 days before check-in specifying your precise arrival and departure time. The cost of the service is 5 euros per bag. If you exceed 4 pieces of luggage, the cost remains the same (20 euros).
