Be-Eroico aims to match the desires of tourists and travelers with the residents needs.
We want to immerse our guests in the beauty, history and significance of our terraced landscape, a unique UNESCO heritage site. At the same time, we want to make travelers aware of the challenges we face in maintaining these terraced vineyards, particularly the dry stone walls that have been an integral part of agriculture in the Cinque Terre for centuries.
How do we accomplish our goals?
Easy, we subtract a portion of our profit (between 10 and 20 percent of revenue depending on the accommodation) and reinvest it in drywall restoration.
We do this because we value:
- Sustainable tourism: promoting eco-friendly tourism practices, encouraging visitors to respect nature, reduce waste, and support local businesses creates virtuous circles that we want to be key players in.
- The benefits of a circular economy: reinvesting a portion of tourism income in dry stone wall restoration ensures that tourism actively contributes to the maintenance of the region’s landscapes.
- The importance of preserving our cultural heritage: we protect and restore the dry stone walls that are the foundation of our terraced landscape and vital to the historical and agricultural identity of Cinque Terre.
We have already begun to rebuild. Would you like to join in as well?
