The incredible landscape of the past
Cinque Terre Wine was demanded throughout medieval Europe. Our communities built more than 1,400 hectares of terraced fields (3460 ac). In one hectare of vineyard (2.47 ac) there are between 2,000 and 2,500 linear meters of wall (8200 ft). This means that the length of the Cinque Terre walls was more than 28 thousand kilometers (17.400 mi). The Chinese wall is 21 thousand kilometers long (13.000 mi).
The vast majority of the medieval landscape has survived until the 1970s. When the economy of the Cinque Terre has completely changed. Consumerism has led to a greater appreciation of quantity and ease, compared to the quality and slowness of terraced vineyards. This has gone from 1400 hectares to less than 80. They seem unreal numbers but have you seen the photo above?
A slow change of course
In the early 2000s, the demand for quality wines and unique stories led to increased interest in the vineyards of Cinque Terre. Thus began a slow recovery of the terraced belts. In our own small way, thanks to the contribution of travelers from all over the world, we expanded the family vineyard from 3,000 square meters to more than 20,000 (215000 sqft)!

The dream of reversing course
Originated
be-Eroico
Regenerating the ancient rural landscape is an arduous task full of struggle, but it is made possible by the contributions of travelers from all over the world. Be part of this story, stay with us.
A neverending work
120sqm (1300 sqft)
of walls restored
One square meter of drywall, means one ton of stones, two/three minutes by helicopter to transport the stones to our terraces (did you know that in the vineyard you can only get there on foot?) and two hours of work by the master and his labourer. Take these numbers and moltiplicate them by 120, you'll see how much fun we had!
